I ummed and aahed over posting this, but seeing as the site has an anti-generative AI stance? I’m going to do it. Might it make not much sense? No, but we all start somewhere in life!
It wasn’t something that the giant kitsune did often, however, if something wasn’t benefiting the vast majority of beings on the planet, except for a few rich people who clearly had their ethics pass out the window way back when, then she was more than likely going to subject that something to judgement, and if it failed, then she would destroy it.
In the particular case, she was face to face with a large AI data centre. All it was doing is consuming for a few people at the top. She had zero tolerance for this kind of nonsense. Especially at this point. She looked at it, narrowed her eyes, and began to speak.
“This does not support the vast majority of humanity. As a result, it’s up to the judgement of the highest court in this universe, the court of the people, to decide the fate of this.”
Raising a large handpaw, she focused on it, her contact lenses activating as a timer ticked down, as people globally voted on it in a consensus fashion. The timer ran out, and the verdict was clear. 5% voted that it was innocent. 95% voted to destroy due to guilt. A super-majority.
A red X appeared over her view, indicating that indeed, it was guilty of dragging Earth down. The view cleared with the words “Destruction approved.” flashing in her view. She opted to take a new approach with this, though. She found the methane power plant beside it, raising her footpaw above it and slowly lowering it down to crush the power plant.
Metal groaned and crunched as it bent, and then broke under her immense pawpads, electrical arcing over her footpaw as she could hear the fans slowly spin down, with shards falling down as she placed her footpaw on the ground, flattening it and cutting power to the building.
Outside, a group of people were watching her. The moment the power went out, she looked at them and gave them a nod of acknowledgement and approval. With that, they broke open the doors and raided the facility. Expropriating all the components that they needed or could carry. Storage, RAM, Drives, Graphics Cards.. everything. That was her plan, and she executed it well.
One person in particular, a transgender neko, looked up at her, carrying plenty of RAM and a few GPUs with her. With a smile, she spoke. “Thank you.”
“It may be just one, but I hope that doing this can help people be free of this sludge that’s ruining this planet. I will always do that.” Verena replied, a smile and a swish of her fluffy tails behind her.
