Or at least put them in the same place where you can easily swap between the two.
But I really hate swapping between the two and it’s confusing and difficult to do and easy to lose track of things… It took me like 15 minutes to figure out the difference too lol
Unfortunately this is a limitation of the open source forum software we use called Discourse. I shared a similar concern of the two systems being similar but separate early on, but it was better than just not having one or the other at all. Apologies for the inconveniences on that front. Most of the time I just direct people to use the Chat function anyway.
The limitation is that there has to be two forms of messages? o.o. And there isn’t a way to make it organized in a fashion that would make switching between inbox and chats somehow would be so useful lol
Correct. Messages is a system process used for sending you important notifications by the forum and I cannot turn it off without breaking things. But they are not the instant messaging kind people prefer. Maybe we can revisit this once we release the upcoming announcement which will feature something that might replace the need for the Chat system. But we’ll have to see that then.
