Do you have interesting macro/micro mythical facts to share?

Throughout history tales of giants and little folk are woven into many cultures. Have you got one to share? My favourite is about the Hole of Horcum in North Yorkshire. A geographical feature created by Wade the Giant scoop up a handful of dirt during an argument with his wife!

Here is some official, actual Jackalope lore; the jackalope can imitate human speech and the mating call can be heard late at night when they call out “Hey there big boy” in plain English.

I knew there was a reason I liked em big. It’s a part of my heritage :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The old Norse Jottun aren’t necesarily giants. Rather, they seem innately capable of shapeshifting, which includes the ability to change size at will. Also, the first Jottun, Ymir, was large enough that when he was killed, his body was used to make the world. This and the above suggests that he just really liked being that big.

On the note of giant Jottun, Loki is known even more than other Jottun for shapeshifting, and he is the father of the Rokkr (Hel, Jormungandr, Fenrir). The mother of the Rokkr, was Angrboða, who was also a Jottun. This suggests that the Rokkr actively choose to exist in the forms they occupy. Thus, Jormungandr is a macro by choice.

Also, dragons across the world in various mythologies are known to be shapeshifters, which again implies some size change.
