Who are your Biggest Inspirations if you create Macro Micro stuff?

I just want to hear about the artist or creators that inspire you to make things in this space.

Some of my favorites include RuttingRoads, DigitalFurBelow, Nighdruth, Interz, Ludren, Nitrosimi, Picotatito, OldShep, Tokitechie and Novra/Beefmccat.

Some of these creators are more muscle and growth than macro, so feel free to share inspirations that are in adjacent spaces yourself as well!

I write, so my sources of inspiration lean more on that side. Authors like Nuclear_fusion/Zev, Rolibar, Renard de Fleureaux, Tachi/Kentaro and Infinity421 are classics. Other authors like Darknevoir and NexAnimaCanis I haven’t read as much of, but they also have really good material. I think I wouldn’t have started writing if it weren’t for stories like “Miracle Fruit” by Nuclear_fusion or “The App” by Superwaffle. There’s just so much I can’t possibly list it all here.

Fun fact: an eternity ago there was this super fun interactive story on writing.com that Oldshep started (as far as I know.) “Bigger, Stronger… Fluffier?” is the name if that story. It is ridiculously fun and some of the branches are sorta extensive. If you’re ever curious about some of his characters, there’s a big chance they come from that interactive story.

Ooh, super excited to read some of these. I really like stories, but I find I have a hard time putting in the time to read them. With your reccomendation though I’ll definely check these out! Ive read some of these authors before and they make good stuff. I still think about the text adventure game superwaffle made.

Dude, Superwaffle stories were just something different altogether. I wish he hadn’t deactivated his FA account. Sometimes I wonder how he’s doing…

Yeah, sometimes it’s difficult to find the time to do some reading. I try and “eat my vegetables” with writing by doing exercises and reading all manner of varied things from time to time, because in the long run it really helps. Fluffier is a super fun read through and through though!

It was only a month or two ago that I’d truly started debating between what I felt more drawn towards, either Macro or Micro. While visuals (and music) are usually some of the most effective inspirations for me, I don’t commonly see Micro power fantasy art from muscle furs.

That being said, I made it my duty to find inspiration I personally loved, and I’ve found that God of War and Superheroes like Antman are particularly inspiring. Kratos from God of War is especially inspiring to me because I like the grittier fantasy, and the cinematography is phenomenal.

Interesting. I havent seen much of the micro power fantasy but it is an interesting take on the size dynamic. It might be interesting to do something with that but with size teired macros where theres a house sized macro taking on a city sized one:thinking:.

I also wonder if you’d enjoy shadow of the colosus which has a smaller character defeating much larger characters.

I’ve always loved the visuals for Shadow of the Colossus, and it happens to remind me of Breath of the Wild too—Link comes off fairly micro as they explore each of the Divine Beasts; And speaking of giant mechs!

I found the visuals of Pacific Rim fascinating, especially their Mechs, Kaiju, and pilots! Not only are they some of the largest mecha I’ve seen (being at least 60 meters tall on average), but it perfectly ties into my love for TTRPGs because of a system called Lancer. For me, having a ruleset to bounce ideas off of is really powerful when it comes to inspiration.

Yea the pacific rim stuff is really cool! Ill have to look into this ttrpg. My partner loves tabletop roleplaying and this seems like it would have a lot of good ideas and inspiration for macro ttrpg roleplay.

My biggest inspirations early on were Ludren, Guzreuf, and GrineX. I love their artstyles. I like all big muscle stuff hehe. There are several others too.
